Community Guidelines
Last Updated: November, 2025
Venue is built to bring real communities together through events, maps, and shared experiences. To keep every community safe, welcoming, and enjoyable, all users must follow these Community Guidelines. Violations may result in warnings, content removal, suspension, or permanent account removal.
1. Respect and Safe Interaction
- Treat all users with respect.
- Harassment, bullying, discrimination, hate, intimidation, or threats are not allowed.
- Do not target individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any protected characteristic.
- Coordinated harassment or "dogpiling" is prohibited.
2. Violence and Criminal Activity
- No violent behavior, encouragement of violence, or celebration of harm.
- No promotion or organization of criminal activity.
- Weapons, illegal drugs, or instructions for illegal acts are prohibited.
3. Nudity, Sexual Content, and Adult Behavior
- No sexually explicit images, videos, or messages.
- Absolutely no sexualization of minors.
- Dating solicitation, commercial sexual content, and sexual services are not allowed.
4. Self-Harm and Safety
- Do not promote or encourage self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders.
- Supportive conversations about mental health are allowed, but triggering or graphic content may be restricted.
- If you or someone else is in danger, seek local emergency services.
5. Authenticity and Impersonation
- Do not impersonate another person, organization, or Venue team member.
- Fake or fraudulent profiles and identity deception are prohibited.
- Use of real information is required where identity verification applies (e.g., phone number for account creation, documents for Community Accounts).
6. Misinformation and Safety Risks
- Do not post false or misleading information that could cause physical, emotional, or financial harm.
- Examples include — but are not limited to — health misinformation, emergency misinformation, and knowingly inaccurate event information.
- Parody or satire must be clearly labeled.
7. Events, Meet-Ups, and Location-Based Activity
To keep physical gatherings safe:
- Do not create events that could endanger people.
- Do not share another person's real-time location without their consent.
- Venue may remove or restrict events that present safety risks or create opportunities for harassment, violence, or illegal activity.
8. Spam and Commercial Misuse
- No spam, mass invitations, fake engagement, or repetitive posting.
- No bots, fake follower schemes, or fake reviews.
- No unauthorized selling, affiliate schemes, or product solicitation.
- Businesses must use approved business categories and tools.
9. Intellectual Property and Copyright
- Only post content you own or have permission to use.
- Do not post copyrighted photos, videos, music, artwork, or written content without authorization.
- Copyright takedown requests can be submitted to contact@venueplatform.app
10. Community Accounts
Community Accounts represent real organizations, such as colleges, resorts, malls, HOAs, venues, clubs, or businesses.
- Only authorized individuals may apply for or operate a Community Account.
- Misrepresenting affiliation with an organization is strictly prohibited.
- Venue may request documents to confirm authorization and may suspend or revoke Community Accounts that appear unauthorized.
10.1 Admin Conduct and Responsibilities
- Admins must post accurate information and follow all Venue policies.
- Admins must remove themselves if no longer affiliated with the organization.
- We strongly encourage each Community Account to have at least two (2) active Super Admins to prevent loss of access.
10.2 Monetization and Sponsored Activity
- When monetization features are enabled, all in-app promotional transactions must be processed through Venue.
- Bypassing Venue monetization systems or misreporting sponsored promotions may result in feature restriction or termination.
11. Enforcement
Venue may respond to violations in one or more of the following ways:
- Removal of content or events
- Warning notice
- Feature restriction (e.g., posting or event creation)
- Temporary suspension
- Permanent account removal
- Removal of admin privileges or full Community Account access
Severity depends on the level of risk and past violation history.
12. Reporting Concerns
If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines:
- Use in-app reporting tools where available, or
- Connect at: contact@venueplatform.app
Reports are reviewed as quickly as possible. We cannot guarantee individual outcomes, but we act to protect safety and integrity on the platform.
13. Updates to These Guidelines
- We may update these Community Guidelines to reflect safety standards, legal requirements, or new product features.
- When updated, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will change.
