1. Information We Collect

We collect personal information you voluntarily provide, and information automatically collected when you interact with the Services.

1.1 Information Provided by You

The information we collect depends on the features you choose to use.

  • Sign-Up Information: name, username, phone number, birth date.
  • Profile Information: profile photo, biography, city you identify with, social usernames (optional).
  • Communication With Us: customer support messages, survey responses, feedback.
  • Contacts (Optional): if you choose to sync contacts for referral or friend-finding features, we securely store the contact information you approve. We never spam or message your contacts.
  • Location (Optional): if enabled, your precise location is used to display your position on the map and surface nearby activities. We do not store precise location on our servers.
  • Uploaded Photos & Videos: photos and videos remain on your device unless you explicitly choose to upload them. Uploaded photos are stored on our servers.
  • Content You Upload: event posts, comments, reactions, and any other User-Generated Content you choose to share.

1.2 Information Automatically Collected

When you use the Services, we automatically collect:

  • Device and Usage Data: IP address, device model, operating system, app version, language, interactions with features, and crash logs.
  • Approximate Location: if permission is denied for precise location, we may derive approximate location from IP address to support basic functionality.
  • Analytics and Performance Data: information about how users interact with screens, features, and buttons to help us improve the Service.

1.3 Updated Tracking

Like many mobile applications, we use device identifiers, local storage, analytics SDKs, and API logs to support secure and reliable functionality. These technologies help us:

  • maintain secure login sessions,
  • prevent unauthorized access,
  • remember preferences,
  • improve performance and reliability.

You may adjust tracking capabilities in your device or app settings; certain functions may not work if disabled. We do not track users across third-party websites.

We do not sell or rent personal information.

However, we may share information with trusted service providers who support the operation of Venue, including:

  • application performance monitoring,

These service providers may be located in the United States or other countries. All providers are required to safeguard your data and may only use it to support Venue.

4. Data Storage and Protection

We apply technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. However, no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee protection from all unauthorized access.

If you delete your account, most personal information is permanently deleted. Limited information may be retained where legally required (e.g., fraud prevention, regulatory compliance) and may temporarily persist in backups.

5. Children & Minimum Age

Venue is not intended for users under 13 in the United States and under 16 elsewhere. If we learn that we have collected data from a user who does not meet the minimum age requirement for their region, we will delete the account and associated data.

Account Deletion

Users may request permanent deletion of their account and personal data at any time using the email or phone number associated with the account. Once verified, we will delete the account and associated personal data except where retention is legally required.

8. International Users

If you access the Services from outside the United States, please note that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. These locations may have privacy protections that differ from your region.

By using the Services, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other countries as described in this Privacy Policy.

9. Future Billing and Transaction Data

If you activate a paid Community Account or other paid features in the future, we may collect:

  • billing name
  • organization details
  • transaction history
  • payment confirmation data (processed securely through a third-party payment processor such as Stripe or Apple/Google In-App Purchase — Venue does not store full payment card numbers)

Billing information is used only for payments, fraud prevention, and regulatory compliance.

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our Services or applicable laws. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and provide notice within the app when required.
