Account & Data Deletion Policy

Effective: November, 2025

This policy explains how users can request deletion of their Venue account and associated personal data. It applies to users on Android (Google Play) and iOS (Apple App Store).

How to delete your account

Option 1: In-app deletion (where available)

If supported in your app version, users can delete their account directly from within the Venue app:

Profile → Settings → Account → Delete Account

Account deletion requests made in-app are processed automatically after verification.

Option 2: Request deletion via email

Users may also request account deletion by contacting us at:

Subject: Account Deletion Request

Please send the request from the email address associated with your Venue account and include:

  • Your registered email address or phone number
  • Your username (if applicable)
  • A short statement requesting account deletion

If you no longer have access to your registered email or phone number, contact us for alternative verification steps.

What data is deleted

Once your request is verified and processed, Venue deletes or de-identifies (where applicable):

  • Account profile information (name, username, email, phone number)
  • Authentication credentials
  • User-generated content you created (posts, uploads, messages stored by Venue)
  • Location data associated with your account (if applicable)
  • Device or app identifiers linked to your account (if applicable)

Data that may be retained

We may retain limited data only where required for legitimate purposes, including:

  • Legal or regulatory compliance
  • Fraud prevention, abuse detection, and security
  • Records of consent, policy acceptance, or transactions
  • Aggregated or anonymized analytics that cannot identify you

We do not retain personal data longer than necessary for these purposes.

Retention timeline

  • Account deletion is typically completed within 30 days of verification.
  • Certain data may remain in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before permanent deletion.
  • Data required for legal or compliance purposes may be retained for the legally required period only.

After account deletion

  • Your account will no longer be accessible.
  • Content shared with other users (for example, messages they received) may remain visible to them but will no longer be linked to your account.
  • De-identified or aggregated data may continue to be used for analytics.
